I've plugged mine in as it say in the instructions. Wont you two be voiding the test buy not running all your traffic though it?

You both agreed to the T&C's but now you've changed your minds.

Seems pointless

Not necessarily, the only reason some traffic needs to be passed through it is to ensure it doesn't perform a speedtest when you are utilising your bandwidth, however if you schedule downloads around the times it takes tests, then it is ok.

All connected up and running Smiley Cant run network devices through the router because at the moment im only using wifi until floor repair works are complete , Then ill be using an Ethernet network again, I'll be glad to see the results from this as i feel my connection is heavily traffic shaped during peak & off beak times, The only time i generally see my full speed is Early hours of the morning.

Hi guys,

Glad to hear you've all received your units. The links to the individual user's statistics were sent out this evening, but the ISP-level statistics won't be available for at least 4 weeks.

Adrian is absolutely correct - the instructions ask you to run your wired devices through the switch on the back so that it can detect when your network is busy and then defer the tests until a quieter time. As mentioned in the instructions and in the FAQ, there's no need to touch your wireless setup - the unit will passively monitor the nearest wireless access points and defer tests if it sees traffic running over them.

Hope this helps,

Sam

Hey Sam, One thing about monitoring the nearest access points.

Where I live you can see perhaps 4 or 5. I guess if they're active it'd delay testing would it?

It'll monitor the ones with a very strong signal strength. I'd rather it be conservative and defer tests a little longer rather than try to run them whilst you're watching something on iPlayer (which would both skew the results and interrupt your viewing!).

Thanks again,

Sam
