For interested parties, here's the latest press release concerning our SYMSIP symmetric broadband service. We'll usually try to put info up here as soon as we release it to the press so if you want the inside scoop, keep an eye on the blog :-)

Press release, Hull, 24th July 2008.

Fibrestream Limited today announced its ability to supply next generation, state of the art, symmetrical broadband services to the Hull business market.

The SYMSIP service offers an advanced replacement for businesses currently using leased line products in Hull, combining both dedicated leased line and Internet services via a single connection saving customers money.

The SYMSIP service also allows businesses to utilise the connectivity for voice services, therefore replacing traditional analogue and ISDN products helping businesses save additional sums through the reduction of existing line rental and call charges. This helps businesses communicate more efficiently and allows them to maximise their investment in the latest in telecommunications technologies.

SYMSIP can be delivered across Hull (and nationally reaching 80% of the UK population) independent of the existing old-generation copper-wire telecommunications network.

Fibrestream Managing Director, Guy Jarvis comments.

"Fibrestream is proud to pioneer this new SYMSIP service offering the people and businesses of Hull more choice and opening up new opportunities for Hull's future in the 21st century digital age.

By bringing this SYMSIP technology to Hull, local businesses, for the first time, can gain access to network services that are commonly available in other leading cities such as Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Nottingham.

The deployment of our SYMSIP service is intended to encourage inward commercial investment into the city, in addition to retaining existing local high-growth/high-technology businesses."

Wow this is awesome news finally another service provider! I for one welcome Fibrestream to the market place, I hope this finally get KCOM to start competing with another operator. This is great news for any in business in Hull. Any chance a spokesperson from Fibrestream could post to the forum?

Skepticism is healthy - and British. Perhaps we should bear the following in mind?

The Man Who Thinks He Can

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost.
For out in the world we find success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before you can even win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins
is the man who thinks he can.

I want to be proved wrong Nosivad, but history has told us that any startup looking at Hull or any ISP considering it has soon and quite quickly revised its plans, this area is and will be Fortress Kcom for some time to come...
