I'm only getting 50k/s off ftp.wireplay.co.uk and 300k/s off ftp.blueyonder.co.uk.. on Karoo Pro.

Typically it is slower than the old 8mb product.

Test downloads on the Karoo site only go at 700. [http://www.karoo.co.uk/helpandsupport/new/downloads/] - on max, these were not subject to shaping??

My net trains at 18meg.

I can only ever get 1.2mb off news, regardless of time of day. I don't think 1.2mb/ maxes 54g wireless does it?

Anyone else having similarly strange results?

Have they decided that a couple of weeks of decent internet was too much for us??

No problems here.

Although I have noticed speedtests arn't accurate, I'll get 8000 or so kbps on a speedtest but still download at about 1.3MBs

hrmm I will try reboot my router, apparnetly my SNR is down to 3!

it's holding sync stable though, and winmtr doesn't report any problems with packetloss?!

anyone confirm that the karoo download testers are still unshaped?

after rebooting the router. same results elsewhere :\

seems they have drastically cut the bandwidth, or more people are moving over to the new packages.

http://www.karoo.co.uk/helpandsupport/downloads/drivers/100meg_file.zip

I get 600~ k/s off this. Surely I should get 1.8???

I've never seen my internet go over 1.2/3mb/s regardless of higher sync. Anyone had faster speeds than that?

40 quid a month, i'd atleast expect them not to shape my connection! especially as they are now rinsing me on download quotas. I suppose it was to be expected

Just checked nntp was at 50KB/s Sad but http is still atleast 1.2 (my syncs only enough for about 1.4) and other people are using the internet.
Come next month I'm going to do pretty much all downloading overnight anyway so there new way of peak/non peak usage is useless. I'm going to download just a much if not more, just do it all during the night.

That Maidenhead servers seems to be pretty busy all the time or has a lack of bandwidth...
Using the Paris server:

Line:

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:   1.023 / 18.067
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]:   2,12 / 11,53
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:   15,5 / 24,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:   12,5 / 3,5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote):   TMMB / BDCM

They are investigating my line, apparnetly a lot of people are complaining about strange download speeds.

I was  told a lot of errors were slowing my downloads but I dont think it's the case (and i don't think they do either!)

@ 1.2mb/s @ 18meg sync i can still ping 25~ which is very odd. Couldn't get it any higher.

my stats now =
Uptime:   0 days, 1:17:10
DSL Type:   G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:   1,023 / 13,311
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]:   0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:   12.0 / 20.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:   15.0 / 27.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:   13.5 / 13.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote):   TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):   0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):   0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):   0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):   0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):   0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down):   2 / 5,449
CRC Errors (Up/Down):   2 / 16
HEC Errors (Up/Down):   22 / 15

my mates on be unlimited with same router =

FEC Errors (Up/Down):   681 / 110,161,048
CRC Errors (Up/Down):   681 / 6,525
HEC Errors (Up/Down):   77,869 / 4,155

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1390/14310

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:   4.0 / 3.5

connected for 4 days

his is rock stable and will do 1.4mb/s. mine was too! So why is it so slow!?!? will be interesting to hear back from them.

On another note, how many crc/etc errors are people getting??

!!!!!!

It may be worth trying to connect your micro filter to the test socket on your main phone point.

If you unscrew the two screws from the front of your socket and remove the front panel there is a test socket behind it.

This may help.

All good advice however I've no microfilter any more as I no longer have a phone connected to the line and it is already wired into the test socket. Pretty hardcore nerd here Tongue

my downstream SNR has improved [very odd for the time of day] to 15!?

that is so much margin for ADSL2!! why oh why limit me to 13 meg.. my line is fine!? it is something at their end.
