Hi,

Further to the email sent to selected customers earlier today we are now able to confirm some more details with regards to the ADSL Service in the Hull Area.

We are currently trialling ADSL services in the Hull area and subject to further testing we hope to roll out to further parts of the city early 2009.

We would like to apologise for any confusion with regards to the pricing for the service, the incorrect link was sent in the email, you can view the correct pricing coming into effect shortly which is the pricing for the Hull based service and the rest of the UK service.

The correct link is http://www.hullservers.com/beta/?pageid=7

However these have not been fully confirmed as yet and are subject to change (we're trying to get them a bit lower subject to finalising the final setup costs)

Should you require any further information please feel free to email cs@hullservers.com

Yours Sincerely,
David Catherall,
HullServers.com

Note: I have been informed that my business mobile number has been posted on another forum, please do not post this around as the number of calls I am receiving is effecting our existing customers been able to contact me. Should anyone wish to contact, please email or use the telephone numbers on the website as these are call queued. Also note to moderator/admin sorry if posting the link and email address is not permitted however as a few of your members seemed a little confused by the pricing and information given earlier today, we felt it was right to correct the mistake.

Hi David, no problem with you posting info about your service here. We're more than happy for businesses offering broadband alternatives to Karoo to tell us about it.

I think you're probably the first person offering ADSL over KCs network that Ive heard of and I take my hat off to you for having a go at it  Grin Just out of interest a couple of questions.

How many KC exchanges are ADSL enabled for competitors such as yourselves at the minute?
Are you using Kingston backhaul ie. would you have problems if the KC network went down like it has a couple of times recently?

Hi Dylan,

I am still awaiting confirmation on what exchanges are enabled hence why we are only testing on a small number of lines through 2 exchanges, as regards using KC backhaul during the trial we are using KC backhaul however once we go live, we will be using our own network.

As the comparision has already been drawn with ADSL24 in regard to pricing I'll ask the important question:

Is the hullservers product un-throttled as ADSL24's is ?  or is it 'traffic managed' for certain activity such as nntp / SSL ?

I know its still in beta but, the broadband checker does not work + it could do with a proforma i.e 01482 1111111 or just 111111?

Hi there,

Firstly sorry for any delays in replying to your questions, as you can expect we are recieving a higher than normal number of emails and calls of which we have to prioritise, we would recommend users to email us directly to get any questions relating to individual line checks by emailing support@hullservers.com as we do not recommend posting phone numbers on any website or forum.

In answer to your question, we do not throttle any traffic from a users account unless they have exceeded there bandwidth limit for that month, however on the next billing period throttling will be removed.
