 Angry

Dear all - Please read the following which clearly states by Ofcom that the KCOM Talk Packages where lines and calls were "bundled" should not have been allowed since no service provider could offer an equivalent service in Hull

Ofcom has concluded that KCOM have SMP for calls and lines in Hull for both domestic and business telephony services

One rule for BT - One for KCOM !!!!!!!

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/bt_retail/

Summary

1.1 There is at present a presumption that if BT bundles retail products that fall within markets in which it has been found to have significant market power (“SMP”) with products from other SMP markets or products from markets in which it does not have SMP, that this will be presumed to be unduly discriminatory due to the capability it has of harming competition.

1.3 Ofcom published a statement in May 2004, which considered whether BT should be permitted to offer discounted prices for bundles of business services, where some of the products in the bundle fell within markets in which BT holds SMP. The statement set out the circumstances in which Ofcom considered that it was appropriate to permit BT to offer discounted prices for bundles, which included a requirement that the products in the bundle be replicable. The statement concluded that many of the services in SMP markets were not replicable and that it would therefore not be appropriate to permit BT to bundle these products together and offer discounted prices for the bundle.

THE SERVICES IN HULL CANNOT BE REPLICATED SINCE KCOM NOR ANY OTHER TELCO OR ISP DOES NOT OFFER WLR AND CPS SERVICES IN HULL

Ofcom does not care about Hull (for one reason or another !!) - thats why you have no competition for broadband or telephony services in Hull

That's interesting. Was there any kind of reply yet to the earlier complaint you posted elsewhere in the forum?

HI Dylan

I believe NEXUS Telecommunications have a formal complaint against the changes

We need to have as many businessses as possible writing into complain
about the lack of Ofcom oversight on KCOM

In my mind all KCOM bundled services are illegal and we need a Public Enquiry by the EU into the KCOM / Ofcom relationship and the lack of enforcement on KCOM
