OK its probably my own fault for expecting Karoo to live up to its own hype but.....
I was (or am i still ? Undecided ) on option 3 and got all giddy and excited at the prospect of Karoo Pro. Only a fiver a month more and ADSL2.
Rang Karoo and was told 'Yes Karoo Pro is available in Driffield, you should get about 10meg on that line'
Whoooohoooo. Better than im getting now yes i'll have me some of that.
Was due to be switched over today 29th, got home, checked (agog with excitement  Tongue) Nothing, nada, nowt, zilch exactly the same as before, G992.1 Annex A.
Giving Karoo the benefit of the doubt i rang them.
'Oh its all been switched over, i'll put you through to technical'
waits...........
waits some more.......
'Technical.... ADSL2...... in Driffield........ Nahhhhh....  Exchange has old cards that wont support it....
Angry Lips Sealed Angry Lips Sealed Angry Lips Sealed
'I'll put you through to customer services.....'
'Customer Services...... OH..... they shouldnt have told you that (  Shocked )    No ADSL2's not available in Driffield (yet)'
'So why the **** would i want to pay more for the same level of service?'
'I'll put you back on you old package sir'

WalBert, ADSL2+ is definitely available in Driffield if you are connected via the main exchange, but you may need to have your line switched from an 'old' DSLAM to a 'new' DSLAM. This should be normal practice for anyone upgrading to the new packages and you shouldn't need to request it.

If you are a little bit outside Driffield (eg Hutton Cranswick) you may be on a line connected via a street cabinet and you won't currently be able to get ADSL2+. You can tell if you are on a street cab because the online speed checker will not give you an ADSL2+ speed if you are on a street cab.

So, punch your postcode into the online speed checker and if it quotes you an ADSL2+ speed estimate, then get back on to customer services - they must have got it wrong first time round.

Yep punched my post code into the checker BEFORE i even ordered Pro and it quotes me a 10meg speed.

Would appear that they not only got it wrong the first time when i placed the initial order but also the second time too when technical told me that i couldnt get ADSL2 in Driffield as miracle of miracles i am now connected at ADSL2 speeds on the 'new' exchange. Roll Eyes  Must have built that quickly  Grin
As you say i shouldnt have to ask!!  But i had too  Angry  Angry  Angry
Make me wonder how many other people in Driffield ( or Hull for that matter ) are paying for something that there not getting  Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh?

infact we were the first exchange to move over, a good month before everyone else.

1.7mb/s downloads is normal outside peak times (before everyone else got it, it was during peak too)
