Thank you for your email to the Internet Helpdesk.

>From looking at your account, it has been unstable for most of the
period since it was upgraded to 12Mb, with anything from 10 to 15
disconnections per day.
These are all disconnections consistent with the line running at too
high a speed.
Having looked at your line, this is obvious with the very low signal to
noise ratio on the line.

I dropped the line to 11Mbps, but this was still unstable and kept
dropping out.

I have therefore dropped the maximum connection speed on your line to
10Mbps in an attempt to stabilise your connection.
Please let us know if you continue to have problems with your
connection.

Should you require any further technical assistance, please don't
hesitate to get back in touch.

Best regards,
Mark

Most of those disconnections was me trying multiple routers out to see
which ones would give me a better SNR @ the 12Mbit connection. The
lowest i've seen my SNR was 4DB, and i've been informed that ADSL+2 can
be totally stable at as low as 3DB, which i know to be the case as a few
members of karooforums.net have shown me their connection stats.

I'd appreciate it if you could put my connection back to the 12Mbit it
was at, as whenever i wasnt messing around with it, it was totally
stable and i was constantly recieving speeds of 1.3 MB/s from various
websites without issue.

Thanks.

Thank you for your email to the Internet Helpdesk.

As stated in my previous email, I could see the line repeatedly dropping
at 12Mbps.
When I dropped the line to 11Mbps, I could see the line repeatedly
dropping.
When I dropped the line to 10Mpbs the line did not drop.

Can you please monitor your connection over the next couple of days, and
if the line is stable we will raise the speed to 11Mpbs to see what
occurs.

Should you require any further technical assistance, please don't
hesitate to get back in touch.

Mark

Now im f**king angry.

The connection has been totally FINE since i was upped to 12Mbit, i never had one disconnection when i was using it (which is a lot.), so wtf is he playing at, and why wont he do what I ask him to do, to MY line!?

I ******* sick to death of this lousy ******* "company" and their poxy internet Dis-Service.

Anyone have any suggestions on what i do next? Besides going round there and petrol bombing the place...

Hi Mark.

As i already stated, most, if not ALL of those drops you saw during the past few days was me pulling the connection, i'll bet most of them was between say 6pm and 8am, right?

The line has been perfectly fine when i've been watching/using it, bar slightly longer sync up times, which i can live with for the extra bandwidth, right up until this morning where i assume you was fiddling around with it.

Without trying to sound like i know your job better than you, as im sure i dont, or trying to sound to much like a twat (although im sure you're thinking it... Wink).
I too have been monitoring my connection since upgrading to ADSL+2 and i know that my line CAN do 12Mbit. I know it can because i've seen it, and used it without issue.

So Mark, please will you put MY connection back to the 12 Mbit profile, and IF i have any issues, you can be 110% sure i'll let you know about them.

Thanks.
Dave (Slightly annoyed.)

lol

3x i've had my profile at 16meg, and for the 3rd time they dropped it lower. i haven't even had connection issues, they assume when you powercycle ur router that ur profile must be set to high.

this time they dropped it to 14.5 not back to 12, but either way, they have a habit of reducing everyones profile. tbh i cba emailing again and again coz i will get 16 for another 2-3 weeks (without trouble) and then some tard or autoexec system will drop it back as soon as i powercycle.
