System Up Time 03:51:59
ADSL Link               Downstream            Upstream
Connection Speed   4096 kbps               877 kbps
Line Attenuation       64.5 db                   39.2 db
Noise Margin              4.1 db                   5.8 db

netgear DG834G   n bransholme   karoo pro

To be honest, you will possibly benefit from switching the router to ADSL2 mode (instead of ADS2+) if you aren't already using it,

Given the noise on the line there is little point you trying to use the extra frequency avaiable from ADSL2+ (2.2mhz instead of 1.1mhz) and it maybe doing more harm than good...

I think dmt tool version 8 will allow you to try that, if the web interface on the router doesn't.

its all very consistant , in fact its the best i have had since using karoo. Smiley

i am told that because my line is so long, etc there is probably very little to be done, i hope that things will improve as time goes on

i've found everytime i powercycle my router, it connects at a different speed. So trying to find a pattern, everytime it connects, it goes for a SNR of 6db

now with this value changing depending on time of day amongst other stuff, i found best time to power cycle the router is 7am ish it makes the difference of about 13meg and 16.4 meg

i'm not sure if everyone is on this, but thought i would post (note once connected, it remains at said speed regardless of SNR until i power cycle next)

If your SNR doesn't vary much then you may benefit from a 3dB profile instead of the one you are on now, may be able to squeeze 5-6mbit out of the line Smiley
