Because Karoo's traffic management for the old packages is permantely restricting ALL traffic during the evenings and weekends and causing packet loss.
I reported this a month ago and have now exchanged in excess of 30 emails with technical support. We still have no solution, I have just 10 minutes ago sent off an official complaint on the subject.
Edit: I guess its a ploy by krapoo to get me to upgrade seen as ADSL2+ customers seem to have no trouble, lol
Hit the nail on the head. Karoo asked me to do some tests before, during and after one weekend. During the weekend, I could watch BBC stuff perfect, and everything else was fast too. Before and after the weenend I was plagued with the problems. What had Karoo done but not told me, fixed the problem? No, they temporarily upgraded me to Karoo Pro!
To "resolve" the problem that you were having, we temporarily upgraded you onto our Pro package, from the Option 2 package that you are currently on.
Unfortunately, you are the only customer to experience these problems, so we don't believe that this is an issue with traffic management or the package itself.
If this was any other service, I would have cancelled it by now and gone elsewhere, but we can't do that can we, I don't know what I do now, just live with it? I aint paying for Karoo Pro, they need to get their services in order.
