I do a lot of online gaming and my ping is at around 40. Is this good or bad? I know it has gone up since moving over to adsl2+.

i'm on their "gaming profile" ping about 12 again now. very happy. it would seem some of the support will help you, and some others just wont.

What did you ask them to do to get ping down? Did you email them?

My gaming ping tends to be 40-50 in Cod4

no I called them the first time and they send the info to an engineer and was corrected by the next day. The second time I just emailed them and it was done by the same day but they dropped my down connection from 16 meg to just over 13 meg which I am not happy with.

I had to put the speedtouch router on as my netgear wont work after updating firmware and crashed while it was doing it.

you should be able to get the recovery utility direct from the Netgear web site under support and downloads

Everytime you pressed what?
Have you tried downloading latest firmware from here http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/dg834gv3.asp

You need Version 4.01.28 for UK and that needs saving to your hard drive for you to load the img file from the router.
