As I said out the outset of this thread they ARE looking to disconnect unsecured wifi points

http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/11/05/uk-isp-cuts-punters-open-wifi

That article and the Torrentfreak article it cites both seem to miss off the opening paragraph of clause 9.6 which states it only applies to their wireless service. This presumably is the city centre one, rather than the one in your home.

As I said previously, it's the reference to a "line" in 9.6.4(iii) that is horribly unclear. That heavily implies a home connection rather than a city centre wireless service.

It needs to be clarified. It doesn't help that Karoo refused to speak to Torrentfreak.

Quote
(iii) You have permitted (whether knowingly or not) a third party (or third parties)
to access the Service using a wireless connection over Your Communications
Line.

It needs to be clarified. It doesn't help that Karoo refused to speak to Torrentfreak.

As I said out the outset there is a specific reference to 'your communication line' - therefore it is unlikely to be a public wifi point.

If it is incorrect surely KC would have corrected - perhaps we should send it over to the HDM as they seem to be on KC witch hunt, perhaps a local rag could obtain clarification.

From DesandCaz' previous post:

We confirm that the changes were implemented to prevent unauthorised usage of the Karoo service by a small number of our customers. The changes do not prevent our customers from connecting to the Karoo service from multiple computers, in their own household, or from remote wi-fi access points, legitimately.  We are sorry if we have caused you any concern.

We will make suitable amendments to the Karoo Standard Terms, to provide clarification on this point, in the next edition of the Karoo Standard Terms.

So, they say they'll clarify the multiple connection point at the next revision which is a bit slovenly.

Hopefully they will clarify the reference to a "line" in 9.6.4(iii), as they *do* specifically reference their Wifi hotspots in 9.6 and state that the points following that refer to their Wifi service.

As you obviously realise they can't refer to both the Wifi *and* your home "line" at the same time to this point currently reads as gibberish. Which local rag you thinking of?

So this seems to be in direct contradiction to the advice I got from technical support when I was round at my brother's house testing his internet connection - we were having problems and at the request of technical support, I configured my brother's router with my username and password to see if the connection problems were account specific (they were).
