Connection Speed     2254 kbps     360 kbps
Line Attenuation    59.5 db    32.6 db
Noise Margin    3.3 db    5.9 db

Must be a fault somewhere as its happened again, gave them a ring and they have raised a fault with engineers and aim to fix it by end of next working day.
Phone doesn't work, at least broadband just. connects

Though I'd have a look at the fault reporting webpage at https://www.kingstonworld.co.uk/

The Report is Currently Being Tested & Analysed.

So we have to go through all the checks before they send a engineer to the house, I bet the fault is with our wiring somewhere its ancient.

Good Luck.

I had 10db SNR, 4608 down sync.

Mr Engineer came (for what reason, I will never know), laughed on the phone a bit when the port went wrong at exchange, went to exchange, came back, set profile to 2meg, and left me on that1

How much you think they would charge to replace all there wiring, ie move the master with a new dropcable
(People on here get 16mbps+ on here with pretty similar line stats)

Silly money knowing KC.

We had an engineer out once who wanted to charge just under £200 for moving the master socket, as it happened we were friends with another engineer at the time who we phoned and managed to get the work done without charge.

If he thinks it will benefit you he will probably do it free of charge as he has been called out anyway,

Every single engineer I have met has been really friendly and knowledgeable and always seemed willing to help etc...

Just a shame that some of them may be losing their jobs this year with KC cutting back and outsourcing even more to Cumberland...

Working agin now, some cable had broke so he bodged it because he noticed straight away that our dropcable was very old (I think its the old Figure 8 cable) but he wasnt able to change it needed to get a cherry picker out to change it.
So its connected now only 500 kbps slower than normal and a 15 minuite job and someone else will come sometime to change the dropcable and move master socket, happy now Smiley
The colour coding for our wiring was even wrong.

I would also like to second that quote about engineers and I have met more than my fair share of them Smiley

It is my belief that a firm makes or breaks by it's working staff and that in this firm some of the managers and support staff should be getting the boot.
The managers and support staff that I have come across in Krapoo are clueless and condesending and in some cases damn rude.

They came at 11 and took about 40 minuites.

New cable and new mastersocket.

Sync hasnt improved but hopefully will be more stable.
Connection Speed     14200 kbps     1023 kbps
Line Attenuation    29.0 db    17.1 db
Noise Margin    3.6 db    8.1 db

I think Karoo locked my sync anyway at this speed as DMT says im getting 88% of my RCO (16208kbps) So w'll email them in a few days and see if they can get that up.

Edit, just checked to see if they connected ring wire...
Tried test socket and it was normal sync, removed ring wire and its working properly again now.

Connection Speed     14335 kbps     1023 kbps
Line Attenuation    29.0 db    17.1 db
Noise Margin    5.4 db    8.1 db

Now just gotta get them to put me on a 3db profile and hope for 16mbps connection, which ill do in a few days
