NEW top ADSL 2

Hello all,

Normal adsl working okay at min around 6meg and all dandy on old MAX no limit option 4 thingy.

Any reason I SHOULD NOT go to new PRO option and get slightly better D/L speed and a free router.

MY Thinking is 1) can't see competitors coming in with better service in next 12 months.
                       2) Free Router
                       3) The adsl speed calculator that was linked to from forums estimated a 12.4 meg connection


Is there anything I am missing ?

My advice would be to stick on your current package. After speaking to quite a few people who have moved over to the ADSL2+ service they regret the change. It would appear Krapoo have fully engaged the bandwidth machine and traffic shape all traffic other than web browsing. If your current package has no traffic shaping or download limits then stick with it since even if your line support 12Mbit/s you'll never get to utilise that speed due to traffic shaping on the newer packages.

Dam , That's what I thought really just wanted to hear some amazing stories of a great karoo product........But then I woke up.

Spent a while on the phone with KC and they WOULD NOT offer a 14 day change your mind thing all they would offer was to cancel new contract BEFORE I used the new ADSL2....Bit tricky to test it withouot using it really.

well that's odd because I have just changed to ADSL2 and not enjoying the experience so far but they said I had 14 days to cancel and this is what their own website says

If I am unhappy with my new package, can I change back without cost to me?
We are confident that customers will experience consistently improved download speeds with these new products. However, in the rare circumstance that a customer experiences a downgrade in experience, we will allow the customer to change back to his previous product free of charge.

I thought / knew that was the case but the lady on the phone was having none of it.

Looks like I am best sticking with my 8 Meg unlimited then.

They are trying to sort my connection out and to be fair they are being really helpful but if it does not work then I will be going back to my 2mb unlimited connection. If they say that I cannot then I will be quoting them what their own website says. Hopefully it won't come to that and everything will be ok but we will see.

Just as a further note, I used to get 2mb on my old connection and I have switched to adsl and i just getting under 4mb which to my mind is not great
