Hi

My 1st post here and I am glad to find a forum deadicated to our beloved most excellent ISP (Brick comes through window and smacks me on the head) anyways I am just wondering when the new services came around did any body downgrade after switching to them.

For instance I was on the £30/mth Karoo MAX I downgraded to the £20/mth 1 then the new current packages came out so I downgraded to the £13mth package (then £18 3mth after). My speeds for my Karoo Max option 2 where seriously slow I mean adverage was 160kbps with my Netgear DG834GT router before that I had a Linksys AG241 Wired router and my downloads where 320kbps adverage but that caught fire and just well died (dam thing took my bed cover with it).

Anyways when I changed I was getting better speeds 360-480kbps but because I have a PS3 and play online gaming, download content like trialers, demos etc 10GB a month wasnt enough. So after calling Customer Support and talking to the very nice rep who helped alot and explaining why I wanted to go back to my old Max package (because of it's 30gb a month limit) she put me on hold and later came back to tell me I would be switched back to my old package.

I also explained I asked these questions about my PS3 game downloads etc before I moved to the new package, but they switched me back and I recieved a letter a week later confirming my switch and I got 1 months free internet. Infact they haven't taken my bill out this month either I am just wondering if anyone else switched back and what speeds are you getting because now on my old package I am getting around 360-450kbps out of off peak times 12am - 8pm.

I also like to point out that I think Karoo's tech support are totally rubbish! I wanted to get that off my chest.

Hi,

I did the same as you. When the ADSL2+ packages became available I switched from the £30 Karoo Max to the £17 Karoo Mid package. My connection is now faster than ever as the graphic in my sig indicates.
