Just when you thought KC were ripping is off enough, I just noticed an article in the Hull Daily Mail about the hike in call charge prices which the HDM (who are up KC's arse) title as "KC rings new call charges" when it should be "KC hike up call charges" or something similar.

Anita Pace seems to think National call charges at between for a 20min call at 8-14x the premium on BT is good value. FFS! The have basically doubled the price of weekend daytime national calls.

Apparently, Caller ID is going to cost is £3 a quarter now too!

They really take the piss and of course, they can continue to butt rape us while we have zero choice.

Sad

Those prices are ridiculous!

Perhaps these events could help residents of Hull realise they are being ripped off - and see ho they would benefit by having BT lines?

Aye, plus the fact that they see an exploit to get more cash out of us on Caller Display/ID which has been FREE forever on KC. But as BT charge for this some bright spark has thought they can rip us off for £1 a month extra for no extra work! Grrrrrrr.

My KC dividend wont even cover the cost of that! lol

BT don't charge for Caller Display so long as you make two chargeable calls a billing session and have asked for the privacy thingy to be set up.
KC want 11 quid to cancel caller display according to the price list.

How much does the privacy thing cost on BT? BT charge £1.75 a month otherwise. But as I said its been FOC on KC since it was launched years ago.

***Edit, indeed BT Privacy at home is FOC FFS KC you robbing bar stewards!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

What's the benefit?

BT Privacy at Home* let's you gives you more control over incoming calls. It includes Caller Display**, which lets you see the number of the person that's calling, so you can decide whether to answer. Caller Display is FREE as part of BT Privacy at Home.
How does it work?

Caller Display lets you see the number that's calling, unless it's withheld or unavailable. To use this service you'll need either a phone with a screen or a Caller Display unit.

I am gonna call on monday and get Caller ID disabled on principle, I wont be paying £11 either, that is what they charge for disabling it but they should allow it free of charge due to a change in T&Cs

Other than the notification in the HDM has anyone received any direct comunication from KC to inform them of these changes in the T&C's,, surely before they start charging u for somthing that is currently free the must have to write to u and inform u,,, That is what usally happers (sky write to u to let you know when their prices go up) or does this not apply to Kcom (after all they seem to be able to do as they please in this area)

I think they can argue the announcement in the Local press is sufficient, although I did think it used to be 28 days notice for any change to the T&Cs. KC used to print changes in the back of the HDM many a year ago.

I have just had a bill recently too, no mention of it there.

I seem to remember Ofcom saying something along the lines of "we don't deal with the pricing of services" when I complained in the past about KC pricing...

Cancelled.. The guy was an arse, couldn't give me a valid reason why they were introducing charges "It's just new policy". Idiots. Did I mention I hate KC?

Did they try to screw you for the 11 (+vat) "admin fee".
They did me, so I'll call back and try to get someone else on the phone.

Shame really as CallerID is handy and costs them bugger all.

No, I got it wavered. I said "I assume there is no fee seen as the fact you have introduced a new charge", he said thats fine.
