Hi

I`ve been with Karoo for years and have recently had an additional phone line installed and ordered the karoo pro to go with it, it was due to start this monday but its working now, yay.

I just wondered if there is a way to check if adsl2 is working properly on my connection, I`am getting about 6.7meg at the mo on different speed tests.

The router I`am using is the one they sent for the new setup, the thompson 585 v7.

I`am not really grumbling about the speed, I`am just interested to know if adsl2 is working as it should on my connection.

On the postcode checker that karoo has, it says that I can support upto 10meg.

Thanks
Jim

P.S if this helps, I`ve checked my router settings and it says DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A

Also, I`ve checked something else and wanted an opinion whether its ok, running as normal, or pants..

xDSL linestate up (ITU-T G.992.1; downstream: 8128 kbit/s, upstream: 448 kbit/s; output Power Down: 19.5 dBm, Up: 11.5 dBm; line Attenuation Down: 31.0 dB, Up: 20.0 dB; snr Margin Down: 14.0 dB, Up: 29.0 dB)

Thanks
Jim

Ok, thanks.

I dont want to bother them before Monday as that was the date it was supposed to be activated.

If I`am getting the same results Tuesday morning though, I`ll be on the phone.

Thanks

Hi

I`ve just checked my internet again this morning and it looks like they have now activated adsl2 on my line, its saying G.992.5 now and the speeds are better ( I`ve added the new ones in my sig ).

xDSL linestate up (ITU-T G.992.5; downstream: 10239 kbit/s, upstream: 1023 kbit/s; output Power Down: 20.5 dBm, Up: 12.0 dBm; line Attenuation Down: 34.5 dB, Up: 19.5 dB; snr Margin Down: 14.5 dB, Up: 13.0 dB)

Cheers

snr Margin Down: 14.5 dB

You can still get much more speed out of the line, send them an emailing (seems to have more success then calling them) asking them to tryy and get more speed out of it.
