There are alternatives for calls in Hull!
This post edited as requested by forum members. Although we are interested in learning about alternatives in Hull, we would ask that you make an effort to introduce yourself, explain the deal properly, show us how we are going to save money and treat the forums with some respect.

Hi BigAl.
It's a little bit rude to make your first and only post to this forum an advertisement without introducing yourself first to be honest.
We do get a few people posting here expecting members to dig through their websites to try and find a cheaper deal that often - is hard to find or doesn't materialise.
So, please could you describe here what the full costs for your service are and how it's delivered. I think I'm going to start deleting these sort of posts if the poster doesn't make an effort to engage with us and make it easy for us to figure out what the deal actually is!
Cheers
Dyls

I agree with Hullnet, its blatant marketing and should have no place on these forums. That link is basically going to earn him revenue. Please edit it to link directly to Utility Warehouse. Edit: For those who are interested, a clean link is (ie no referer code) https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/home/index.taf?exref=

OK, I've removed the post. I think I'll also edit forum guidelines to suggest that people need to make an effort as outlined above. We're not a link engine.

Hi Stormy, I'm not so bothered about people trying to create revenue (after all, everyone has to make a living!) it's just rude or lazy posts that don't demonstrate price or benefit, and that force me to have to trawl through a website to attempt to dig up information (that I can't easily find) that miff me off!

Info from Uswitch Telecom Plus home phone ( AKA utility warehouse ) Telecom Plus plc was established in 1997. Its aim is to provide low-cost home and business phone services throughout the UK. The main objective of Telecom Plus is to undercut monopoly suppliers like BT. With Telecom Plus you will get a traditional phone service, with fully itemised bills sent to your home. How do I connect to Telecom Plus phone tariffs? If you are an existing BT customer you connect through Carrier Pre Selection (CPS). CPS routes your calls through a new home phone supplier without needing to dial an access code or having equipment installed. BT will still own, run and send you bills for your line rental and Telecom Plus will send a separate bill for your calls. You can keep your existing telephone number. If you are an existing cable customer you connect to Telecom Plus through an autodialler. An autodialler is a small adapter that plugs into the phone socket of your existing phone line and automatically routes the calls through Telecom Plus. BT or your cable company will still own, run and send you bills for your line rental and your phone number will not change. You will get a separate bill for the calls you make through the autodialler from Telecom Plus. http://www.uswitch.com/directory/home-phone/provider-755-telecom-plus.html

I dont think so, if you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Communicationsyou will see that Mercury did do 132 but only until 1991. I am quite excited about dial132.com , i can remember back to the days when my mum and dad stuck a little sticker on the phone reminding us to dial 132 before every call outside of Hull. Though i wasn't allowed to make calls at the time having been grounded... but now i own a phone have a teenage daughter and have to pay the **$*$&$& bill I will be contacting the website to see if its as genuine as it looks? If anyone gets any info from them can you post on here to help people make up their minds? I know one thing - the prices look cheaper than KCOM! which is good.. ta

Hi Hobbs. yes I have had an email back. It seems they have something called "LCR" in Hull and those things you speak about in BT Land. They did say they would like to do CPS? in Hull, i think its where they add 132 to all the calls from your line so you dont have to remember to press the buttons? but... KCOM have refused to a) answer the emails/calls b) provide any costs to allow CPS even though they are meant to by law
Typical KCOM me thinks...
They also added that they are from Hull - so no doubt understand the KCOM paradox..!
The other bit was that their internal trial (?!) is coming to an end and will be 'soft launching' the system very soon, I am expecting a full price list by the end of the week, I will the post it on here asap.
