New Netgear SLOWER than Speedtouch

Speedtouch 510 = 1.5 Meg
Netgear DG834 = 1.1 Meg

What's going on I thought the Netgear would be better, I'm getting 57 Atten on Speedtouch and 62 on Netgear. Netgear has less noise only 8 Speedtouch has 14.

This is strange, if i unplug then replug my ethernet cable and phone cable my line speed changes. I got it to 1.4 with the Netgear and now it's back to 1.2

Yup netgear is defo slower, speedtouch is 195kb and netgear is 185kb at best
