We believe the GB usage thing has counted all overnight usage for our connection, we have bandwidth usage monitors on all our pc's which track how much data is transferred.
Last night downloads where on as usual about 14GB in total, we periodically check the GB usage for peak time, using ~2.5GB peak a day.
Yesterday it was about 40GB used now its 56.5GB used and I can see from the pc's only about 2.1GB total was transferred yesterday.

We have 14 days left this month, 1.3GB a day but dont even know if its counting off peak still!

Anyone else had problems? going to give them an ear full tomorrow  Angry

Hi Miken,

I am on the top new package also. I always schedule any large downloads for over night and my overall totals are not showing the data I have downloaded over night. Do you have a wireless segment to your network? Could someone be borowing your bandwidth?

9/12/2008 Important update: You may have received an email from Karoo in the last few days informing you that you have exceeded the usage limit on your Karoo package. Please ignore this email, which was automatically generated following a problem with the system that measures our customers usage.

To ensure that no one receives a bill for exceeding their usage limit as a result of this error, we have reset all our Karoo customers usage data for this current period back to zero. Therefore, only usage after today will be included in your monthly allowance this time.

Please be assured that we monitor the accuracy of our usage meters very closely and are reviewing the system to ensure this error does not happen again.

Please accept our apologies for any concern this problem may have caused you.

From the Control panel site thing get to use 5GB a day now for rest of this billing month Smiley

By gum! They will need to be more careful than that. I can imagine a customer being hit by a large bandwidth bill in the future may try get out of it by citing KCOMs previous bandwidth measuring inaccuracy as a precident for not trusting the bill and not paying!

I can't see that being an issue. Karoo are able to double check the data. On this occasion it was spotted to be incorrect hence why the GB usage was reset. And, it was only a small proportion of customers who had incorrect data.

For the record, mine was correct and I had no discrepencies but I gladly accepted the reset.

Secondly, the overnight usage is not part of this issue. It was happening for other users who were not on Pro.
