I have just been told by Karoo that if i want the new ADLS2 speeds
I have to upgrade to there "NEW" packages and sign a new lengthy contract.
I have been with karoo for years, even before broadband was available,
and when it was, it was still poo then, always slow and stopping.
I am out of contract with them and have been for a few months,
And because of this they are been a set of useless W*nk**rs.
Why SHOULD loyal (or was) be penalised in this way just to
get faster speeds and be made to sign in a bully sort of way
And pay the £46 set up fee,
This is Wrong and they need to be things done about it,

I so wish SKY was here now, I know i`d be gone from KCOM.

The £46 set up fee is if you don't want to sign a new contract, if you don't want to pay the £46 fee then you have to agree to a new 12 month contract, its pretty standard across most things, I changed my sky package and was tied into a new 12 month contract, to be honest I can't see any new competition coming any time within the next 12 months any how, so don't see it making much difference, I'll probably get slated for that last comment, but its just the way I see things.

mrX  Why would you get slated for that comment, I agree wholehartedly with you about nobody comming into Hull in the next 12 months. We have had people comming onto here claiming to be starting in Hull as an alternative to Kcon but you need a BT landline.
I see me getting more bad karma on here for saying that but yours has gone down by 1  Grin

I don't have a problem with choosing between a new contract or paying £46 (I chose the former). It costs KC to move a customer to a new service and I think they are well within their rights to insist that the cost is covered, whether that be by a fee or with a commitment.

OT but I think the karma thing here is pointless and only serves to irritate. It would be better if it were switched off. This isn't hotukdeals.com after all.

Under every username to the left of the user's post, there are two links, 'applaud' and 'smite'. If you click on 'applaud' it adds 1 to your karma; 'smite' decreases your karma by 1.

So it's all about personal opinions and not always by informed people?  Tongue

I take it with a pinch of salt but I can see how it would irratate.
