When you where on 14mbps do you happen to know your line stats?
Downstream snr 7.1 at the moment seems stable enough, but doesn't leave much room for more speed surly?

I think it was at about 8 but i read somewhere that adsl2+ could sustain much lower than 6 anyway (something like 2 or 3) as it is more stable, thats why i thought i'd give it a go. When you said yours had gone up to 7.1 i checked mine and it was also 7.1 ish.(now back to 6.1) so the speed increase suprisingly hasn't affected my snr to much anyway.

I'll email them tomorrow see what they can do, your snr for each tone is higher, so doubt they would get as much speed out of mine.

I don't know whats happening but since last weekend download speed tests have hardly changed and my connection speed has been gradually going up.The 17975 kbps is the best it's ever been and speedtest.net is showing a steady 15500kb/s.I've also stayed connected for over 50hrs now, best for a long while. I think it is worth a try asking for the increase, it wont do any harm to see if you can squeeze another couple of mb out of it (give it a couple of days to settle down)and if it does become unstable it costs nothing to go back, good luck anyway.

Your line is set to 17Mb but it has settled at 14.3Mb as any more than that would cause disconnections and disruption in your service.

Couldn't get them to change anything, currently 5.6 snr at 14335
Doubt there is anything that can be changed there, but I replied asking thme to try and extra mbps

15 mins to get it changed to 15mbps

did have 48hours uptime on 14 will have to see how this is, lucky sod Ayreon getting nearly 18mbps out of similar stats

At least you can now give it a go and as you said "they're not to bad", if you have probs they'll just put you back.I used the DMT tool to drop my snr to 50%, it increased my connection speed to 18435 and was stable, the down side was the wife complaining because laptop was unable to connect wirelessly so reset back to original settings.I've been looking at the DGteam firmware for the 834pn and am thinking of giving it a go, anyone else using this firmware?

PS..maybe we should start a new thread.....we've gone off the microfilter subject a bit

I think it must just take an average of the snr's though.

All those 0's will average my snr lower? the lower frequencies are quite high snr but once you get higher they start to drop off to 10... So maybe the total snr isnt a good way of telling how stable a line would be? and I could be stable on a higher sync, just more high frequencies will be used but they will have low snr.
