Beware of speed drop

Having recently being upgraded to ADSL2+ and running at a  downspeed of 10 meg and up of 1000k, I noticed one night that things were slow. Checked the router status and had a up and down speed of 500k. Rang Karoo and after the usual discussions of its my side, they check their side and found my profile had been change to a 500k profile. This could only have been done at there side, I was told, and that they have no idea why some one would have switched it.
Now the thing is, I have now seen this same thing on two other connections (friends pc`s) and again Karoo have no idea how, and it must be a mistake by someone !!!!!

So be aware that this may happen to you, so keep an eye on your connection speed.

my connection was at 0.5g last Thursday and they said the same to me that no one had changed it now seem ok. where are you i am in the hu7 of hull

This has happened to me a few times and just recently a couple of times I have had to ring them. They have taken the gamers profile off me twice and put my connection to 7mb profile.

Last time I called them the guy was ok and put it back on and I said to him why do you keep taking me off the gamers profile, he explained it was because ppl on the gamers profile are using too much bandwidth and it was knocking other users off it. Anyways he left a note on the system not to take the gamers profile from me and touch wood its been ok for now.

What is this gamers profile of which you speak?

It removes interleaving from adsl2 connections to allow better ping times when gaming to avoid latency etc.

I see.   And how would I know if was on one of these profiles?   Is there something I can look for that shows?
