That is very interesting. Do you have any more information, or would anyone from KC like to comment?

I was suprised nothing was on Look North last night.

Staff were sent an email yesterday saying that they would have to apply for their own jobs by tuesday next week.

Sky News has reported 150 staff will go.

I am just checking out the comments.

150 jobs is a lot, but KCOM did take a big hit by putting a lot of their eggs in the financial basket.

Hi Chris,

I work for the Kingston Communications side of the business so am safe, we are having a re-org which should improve our performance.  However the customers of the Affiniti side of the business have been hit harder by the economic climate which has had an knock on effect.

Thanks

The cuts are across the company as a whole, nationwide, not, as HDM would have you believe, all in Hull. IIRC there have been no notices of redundancy yet. Before announcing redundancies the company has to undergo a consultation period of 30 days and it is this period which has begun.

This I know because the company I work for has just started a similar consultation period. I am out of a job come Feb 28th. Actually I'm not because I've found another one.  Grin

I've been told there will be more job losses, the 150 are from the Affinity division but a further 50-75  are set to go in the Kingston division.
