I know Karoo supply a TG 585v7 and a lot use a Netgear 834g that was originally supplied by them, but are there any better/other ones that people would recommend.

Routers with a Broadcom based chipset have the "best stability and connection rates especially for ADSL2+ as [Kingston's exchanges] have a similar chipset". A search on these forums for "Broadcom" returns with those Thomson and Netgear models. Hope this helps.

I myself use a ZyXEL for its PowerLine HomePlug AV support. Another model in this ZyXEL family was offered in the Karoo Shop once. They are not Broadcom based.

I've got a DG834, I can't fault it, never had any problems with it in all the time I've had it. I've never used any others to be able to comment, but the fact I've never had a problem with my netgear I've never had to get another one. I would avoid Belkin at all costs though, a couple of my mates have had em and had problems with disconnections, synch issues etc, they both got a netgear on my recomendation and have been fine since.
