Finally got round to moving from Max to Pro. Dont know why i didnt do it earlier but so glad i did now. Getting just over 5mb with Max and on first chop over to ADSL+2 i was getting over 9mb and with the addition of this £10 face plate bought http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=7256 i am now getting over 10mb. Really pleased with the results.

I recently moved house and could see I would get better speeds on adsl2+, so took the plunge, today is my first day live, I saw room for improvement and a call to karoo got my line stats as

ADSL Link              Downstream      Upstream
Connection Speed    17405 kbps    1021 kbps
Line Attenuation    20 db             5 db
Noise Margin            6 db            11 db

Its now in 'peak time' and a speedtest reports

So all in all, good stuff.

I've been on ADSL2+ for a while now and my speed was similar to yours for about the first month. Now even out of peak my line runs at about 3Mbit/s.

ADSL Link                 Downstream          Upstream
Connection Speed   14336 kbps            1020kbps
Line Attenuation      27.0 dB                  19 dB
Noise Margin            10 dB                     11.5 dB

I'm still trying to get our line fixed. Another engineer coming next week. (lots disconnections)

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:   1,023 / 10,650
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:   19.0 / 19.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:   15.5 / 25.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:   12.5 / 12.5

(They have put me on a 12db profile at the moment, hasn't made any difference though. Looking at Fastethernet like based on the attenuation I should be able to get about the same as his connection. But our snr is too low. Also our our attenuation is usually 29, its weird that its showing 25.5 now. I might get them to swap the pairs we use.

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:   248 / 349
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:   19.0 / 14.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:   19.0 / 32.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:   12.0 / 34.5

Thats what it does, losses sync connects at low sped and then snr recovers. Attenuation increases and power as decreased. They expect its a noise issue but idk.

Mr X with stats like this you should have a much higher sync speed, ring support and ask them to put you a 3db noise margin, you might be impressed with the speed increase. They ask you to keep a eye on disconnections but i have been on a 3db snr for over a week since going live, and apart from a power cut, no disconnections.
