Well what a quaint outdated company KC are. I have recently moved back to Hull/UK after spending 4 years abroad. Finally got a house sorted so first thing on list of things to do is to get a phone installed and internet.
Ring KC and get told they have to run a credit check on us, which is fair enough. This takes 2 days finally get a letter from them 4 days later stating we would need to give them a £100 deposit. Not really happy with this as we have never had any creditproblems in our life, no debts, no ccj's or anything else. but ok we will pay the deposit.
We ask can you take payment over the phone.... Er no it has to be a cheque or postal order...
Ok can we bring payment in to prevent further delay... Er yes but it would need to be cheque or Postal order...
Off we pop into KC with a Postal order for £100 (Cost £10 to get but no delay unlike a cheque) the woman then takes the postal order and pops it into an envelope to be sent to head office

I could have done that from home, so now another wait for them to get the postal order then another delay whilst they decide to sort out the phone line and internet. This all comes after paying last month £46 for a setup fee and a monthly payment for the Karoo Max package because it was the only way we could get the internet for the time between moving to our new house.
The fact this company cannot take payments over the phone or check previous records to show we had a phoneline and internet from them for 7 years before leaving the UK juust smacks of a poorly run business.

But as soon as BT enter this city or someone else i will be jumping ship faster than anybody else.
