Hi Chaps - ex BT guy originally here from Greece having just moved here from London undertaking some top level consultancy - cant say too much at the mo though.

PSTN LCR service and probably requires the use of 132 which is currently the only LCR code open in the Hull area over KC lines. (We used to use 12 here in the good ole days).

BT are now offering free calls to 0870 and 0845 in their bundeled line and calls packages but of course you are not legally obligated to take BT's calls plan with a BT line as you here as you have no choice but to accept KC's unlimited local calls tariff when renting a phone line - why? - cant be legal surely.

We wernt allowed to do this sort of thing. My employer went ape when they found out I couldnt use them for local or any calls since 12 and 121 is blocked - great eh.

Question -  Whats the difference between a "tie" and a "bundle". Answer - One is legal the other isnt !

Have a word with those kind people at Ofcom that kicked BT up their backside - its not right you know!

Regards

I thought it isn't a deal direct from KC. But a deal utility warehouse have done with KC, there wouldn't be anything to stop another tariff provider from offering a similar thing. Its not like KC have done anything that no other company could do, therefore giving them selves an unfair advantage over the 'competition'

Will it work in Hull. My company would be very happy if they had done a deal if I can save money. Who do I need to talk to?

I got the same flyer the other day and I've just signed up this morning.
The lad came round showed me how it works, you plug in a little box to your phone line and they charge you for the calls.

You get the same deal as Utility Warehouse customers in BT land but you have to still pay KC line rental. I'm getting free calls to landlines and they've just started doing free calls to 0845 numbers but I've had to take their gas and electric, pay an extra £2 and you pay a £1.70 standing charge. I should save over £100 a quarter on my calls.

I did bend his ear over them not doing broadband in Hull.

Just got my first bill today
Call charges: £4.16 - they were all calls to mobiles, all other calls were free.

My monthly average amount KC was charging (not including line rental) was £28.

£23.84 each month is better in my pocket than KC's.
