Hi James, could you expand a little please?

The topic refers to leased lines & the website SDSL, but reading between the lines of the website it looks like you are providing microwave service perhaps?

Fleshing the topic out a little and being clear about what you are offering helps users understand a little more easily.  Wink

P.S I deleted the duplicate post you made. Please keep your topic to one thread.

Cheers

Dyls

Hi Dylan,

The two posts were relating to two connectivity products, the first is an SDSL connection, and the second an uncontended private circuit/vitual leased line.

The technology being used is closest to Wi-Max Technology, using radio wave/microwaves yes. We have back haul out of Hull to Telehouse London that is completely independent of BT or KC. The Network provider has made a significant captial investment on equipment to enable the service in the area.
The network has been established in Scunthorpe for nearly three years, and the connectivity for Hull is brought over the Humber and into Hull via Hull Royal Infirmary. We have coverage with a couple more points of presence that covers the majority of the KC area.

With our SDSL service, we effectively have a cloud network throughout the city and we install a small antenna on the customers site connecting them to the cloud. These services offer a high quality connection, ,with guaranteed bandwiths and bursting caabilities. These connections are offered with a maximum 10:1 contention.

The Virtual Leased Lines offer a private tunnel, with a guaranteed uncontended service. Standard pricing for this is listed on the website for up to 10Mb connection. Connections higher than this are quoted on a bespoke basis.
An example of the cost comparison with KC, is a 1Mb Leased Line with KC can be £12.5K P.A., or £2.7k P.A. with ourselves.
The second is that our bandwidth can be adjusted easily as a businesses demands grow and change.

Many businesses are having to make do with a 1Mb connection due to cost constraints, but with our offering they can most likely afford the bandwidth they really require.

In addition to this, East Riding Telecom are also able to offer IP telephony services, and actually deliver the businesses calls via the SDSL/Leased Line. As the pricing for bandwidth is now much more competative than previously available from KC, it often makes financial sense to reduce the costs of line rentals and calls with a smaller cost for the increased bandwidth required to make calls via IP.

Hobbisbang - The old Core Networks points of presence have been bought, mainly for the HRI, but the connections, equipment and service are all a new provide, with updated technology and quality. A number of Core customers have already moved onto the new network, and others are in the process of moving.

Any business with an ADSL connection from KC are urged to trial the SDSL FOC, and any business with a leased line, be it through KC or the old Core network should also consider the new virtual leased line offering.

Good on you. I do hope your kit is not using unlicensed spectrum as the air waves are getting congested.
