Yesterday i was in contact with karoo, who informed me i was still on the old unlimited max option(to my surprise)

I've rang up today to upgrade to the new pro option for the extra speed but was told that id prob be better off staying on the old option as i'm a very heavy user.

my usage chart:

As most of the downloading is done between midnight and 0800 anyway, just wanted to know if the extra speed, would be worth me upgrading? There website says i'd get around 6.5mb(its say i should be getting 5.5mb now but only get 4mb) i've live in the hu3 post code area, can anyone in the same area code area confirm the speed?

STAY WITH YOUR CURRENT PLAN!

They offered me the same a while back and im still on the unmetered plan and will not change it.  You may get "UPTO" 6.5 or whatever it was but you will RARELY get it.  ESPECIALLY for downloading from well known sites.

Depends my connection happily download at 1550KBps between midnight and 8am which is around 5GB an hour.

If you can schedule downloads for overnight you wont have any problems.

Also post your line stats, attenuation, sync and snr

well in the end i upgraded, acording to the letter it would be activated yesterday.

latest speed test

here's a test i did before i'd upgraded

The only increase is my upload.

what i'm finding strange is, the day after i rang them up and upgraded my down speed jumped to 5.5mb

I wonder whats happened to it?

It's a speedtest. Your results will always vary. The best way to establish your true speed is to do the following.

To get your actual connection speed
Log into your router and get the downstream and upstream stats.

To measure your actual 'throughput' speed
Do a download from a site such as Microsoft or Nvidia who often allow full bandwidth.
