Facebook fans and Karoo customers – we need your help! We are currently in talks with Ofcom to allow KC to offer bundled telephone and broadband packages to our residential and business customers. Ofcom wish to conduct a consultation exercise and so we would like your help to tell them that the people of Hull and East Riding, want to enjoy the same money saving bundles that consumers in other parts of the UK do. There are no specific details yet, but we would like to show Ofcom that our customers support this initiative. We’ll post further details about the formal consultation when it becomes available. For now, to show your support please post your name and ‘yes!’ on our facebook page.

Think they are looking for the same permission BT retail recently got from Ofcom, allowing them to bundle products.

Be interesting to see if they would allow Karoo since the reason BT appears to have been allowed was because there was competition from LLU operators providing bundled products.

I fail to see how bundled products would help the customers or encourage competition if any new provider would have to offer bundled products aswell to compete with KC, which KC could probably offer cheaper.

I'm not sure about this one, it would be a good thing if it would help reduce the monthly outgoings, also if KC reviewed the usage allowances across the packages.

But it also looks like it may be another hindrance to other companies who may come in the future, especially if they have to compete with KC on bundled pricing - it's bad enough for them as it is!

Surely B/B and Telephone is already bundled as you cannot get BB without a telephone from them, or am I missing something here.

I'm assuming its meaning billing them together as one tariff, rather than paying say £11 month for Talk 1, and then say £17 a month for mid for example which totals £28, they may offer them together at a discounted rate and its all billed together, for something like £24.99. Thats how I could see it.

Do you really really think KC will offer discounted prices where where they dont have too since they already have a Monopoly and abuse their market power and Ofcom allow them to do this - IE Making the rental of the phone line conditional on the purchase of its local call services - Known as "tying" ( A company Director can go to Prison in the USA for being found guilty of "tying").

Come on Hull people get real !!!! and wake up to the fact that Ofcom and KCOM are locked together in this  and only class action will force a change.

All this will do is REDUCE the chances of any other CP coming into Hull. Its a sure way of protecting their monoploy.

Where is Wholesale Line Rental then from KC !!!!!

I helped forge the NEXUS / Cobus deal with KCOM forcing them into offereing wholesale line to Nexus / Cobus Communications.

Wake up and smell the coffee folks !!!!
