i've now been having incredibly slow speeds since tuesday. not in beverly, but sutton road in hull. (HU6 area) the thing moves at a snails pace. and cant even stream anything (youtube etc)

i've tried things at my end (router options, opening and closing ports etc) and nothing seems to work, what's odd tho, is that i can still play games online with a relatively decent connection. speedtest.net gives me less then stella results but they dont match the speed it takes to actually load a website (speed test shows i'm getting about 1MB, but some sites are taking upwards of 5 minutes to fully load, worse then even 56k)

i now they're migrating accounts across to new cards or something so its probably that, but my god is it annoying. i'm not usually one to complain about karoo, sure they're not amazing, but i've rarely had any issues with them...but since tuesday my connection has been the worse i've ever seen it (that includes the 56k days) i'm praying the problem rectifies itself, but i have a feeling i'm going to have to ring them to see if they see any problems at their end.

it's really messing up a lot of things for me though, emails are taking upwards of 15 minutes to get through, if at all. hell, i can almost guarentee this post will take longer then should to show up on the forums.

if it wasnt for the fact that it seems to be just me who's having these issues (based on everyone i've asked at work, and my neighbours) then i wouldnt be so bothered since i'd know it was an issue at karoo's end, but as it stands i simply dont know what the hell is going on. my router settings seem to be all fine and dandy, and as i said, certain online elements seem to be fine (online gaming) so what the hell is it?

older one, not sure of the name...think it was called rapidtime...it's pretty old tho. but if that's the reason then WTH? karoo just let the old package users suffer just becasue they're not paying more for less? harsh!

It has been observed that Karoo are heavily shaping old packages. Some say that this is to 'encourage' people to leave the old packages and move onto the new ones....

"heavily shaping" is an understatement....lol, this is verging on pure lock out. they may as well just turn my connection off and send a letter demanding me to upgrade my internet package.

What kind of stats are you getting from your ADSL connection at the moment (SNR etc)?

It depends on which router you have.

On my router the option is in > Status > Modem Status.

You should be able to find a screen somewhere that has information on it like this (random phone I found on photobucket) http://media.photobucket.com/image/modem%20status%20screen/k4ketamine/lowyat/Networks%20and%20Broadband/20080915_114616.png

If you can find the info post it here and someone should be able to tell you if your stats are any good or not and advise you what to do next.

Try those and post the stats, although we can already see you are on an older package so its quite possible you are excessively shaped to try and get you to move to more profitable package.

Looks like a very good line, so shouldn't be an issue with the line, are you still having problems or has it all been fixed?
