I'll keep this brief. Having gone through T-Mobile's and 3's mobile broadband, I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with this crap. Awful speeds, made all the more annoying by the fact it frequently drops to 0kbps for anywhere from ten minutes to an hour, and that's when it wants to work anyway which isn't often. The usage limits are also a pain, as it means I can't run backups or substantial updates on any of my websites, all of which have sizeable SQL databases and a fair amount of media content.

So I'm looking to get on Karoo again, but there's a problem; at the moment I'm residing in a property that's not in my name, with a phone line which also is not in my name. There's no chance of the line holder setting up a Karoo account, however heavily I 'financially incentivize' them to do so.

Now I can't see any apparent options here, but I also don't know any of the loopholes or workarounds, etc. Are there any other options available for me to get a Karoo account in my current circumstances? What (if any) additional costs would be involved in doing so?

Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Unfortunately you need to have a telephone line to get Internet access from KC. If the person responsible for the telephone account won't sign for an Internet package then you're pretty stuffed.

If the person responsible for the telephone account is worried about signing up to a 12 month contract, you could perhaps convince them to sign up for a rolling 1 month contract (Karoo will do that for you for a charge of £47) which wouldn't leave them with any more than 1 month worth of payment liability.

Also you can set the direct debit to come out of your account instead so that they won't be faced with the monthly charges. I was also going to suggest the rolling monthly contract option for £47.

Well that's going to be a setback, but at least it's verified with more knowledgable people, rather than assumed. Thanks!

I will take another shot at persuasion towards the rolling contract. That may well remove a good degree of apprehension.
