has there been any update sine this announcement?

UPDATE (12 November 2009):

We would like to give you an update on the recent customer statement released on Wednesday 4 November below.

Shortly following the statement, we made some small adjustments within our core network to help manage the increase in video streaming traffic. This was a short-term solution but we believe it has already had a positive effect on package performance for many broadband customers.

Further to that, this weekend (13/14/15 November), we will complete the installation of new ATM cards to increase bandwidth capacity and reliability on our core network.

It will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete the full migration of customer accounts onto the new cards, however, customers will see progressive improvements as more and more lines are moved over to the new capacity.

We want to assure you we continue to monitor the volume of traffic on our network and are still committed to providing a great customer experience.

Hmmm mine has been pretty steady recently, evenings are as I would expect but certainly no complaints here. Still on Max Option 2.

To be fair to them if they don't think the new package would benefit you they'll tell you Tongue

I am also under the impression that the £10 would be wasted if not now but when nearly all are cohered to a  pro package,

The speed is there alright but by that time all and everything will be shaped to share the limited amount of bandwidth available out ,
Surely the real answer is for karoo to spend some cash and increase the amount of bandwidth available, something that I really don’t think will happen or if it does then not enough to make an impact.

Hi Karoo Forum members,

We'd like to assure you no further shaping is being put onto the Max packages to 'force' you move to the ADSL2+ packages. Max options are managed depending on which package you are on, which means at busy times when the network is at its highest demand, your speed may be reduced.

We are monitoring this daily, as we do across all the packages, to ensure optimum service levels, but do appreciate it can be frustrating when speeds are impacted when the network is busy. We are working on a number of improvements which considers both bandwidth and packages to help bridge the gap between the unlimited Max packages and our ADSL2+ capped packages.

All of this feedback is helping us build an improved range of options for you which is our main goal. We will of course keep you posted on all of this.

Many thanks
