Just read this article regarding Mobile Broadband sales at Carphone Warehouse in Hull.
http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/mobile-broadband-sets-hull-free-021008.html
It the Carphone Warehouse recognises an increase in sales, why don't they recognise a demand for fixed line broadband/alternative to Karoo and provide Talk Talk in Hull.

ISTR that the general consensus when we last contacted a group of ISPs was that they don't want to play in Hull because of the cost operating in the KC area as opposed to the BT area. They'd have to put new software systems in to manage customer connections, buy new kit that they don't usually use to connect customers to and put in highly expensive links to connect them as an ISP into the KC network. What people seem to forget is that these guys are entirely purposed to operate in BT world. Operating here is a different kettle of fish.

When an ISP looks at the massive capital investment required to operate in Hull they probably decide that it's just not worth the risk.
