... or he was

A) running torrents, spotify, 4oD, iPlayer, windows updates, ETC, ETC (all of which will use bandwidth doing nothing bar the torrents which you can pause..)

B) has open wifi network or one running wep or wpa that has been owned

C) is running 3db profile and has interference on his line external to house

D) has problems with his firefox setup

E) he has shared internet connection and someone is lol @ him

F) has poor wireless signal

G) has interference on inside wiring and/or broken networking kit in house (router/etc)

H) has a virus

anyone care to add anything else?

if no to everything above then YES karoo are being lame. Wouldn't be the first time would it, so cannot blame people for pointing fingers..

quite honestly these speeds are so low I cannot believe Karoo are doing this. What Max packages are you all on?

I am on the most expensive p[r]oo one and it is about 150kb/s tonight. Every now and again it spikes to my max..

well you are on max option 2 I suggest you upgrade to a better package. when I was on max 2 I got similar speeds at peak back in 2007~. They told me this was to be expected and that there was nothing they would do to change it.

speed is good tonight - max my line will do.

and yes it is sick that clearly the max packages are being throttled but what can we do? Karoo do not have to listen to us complain so it will never change - you'll just have to pay more money. Though even when you do the speeds still arent great.

These speeds are not acceptable for HTTP at all.

All I wanted to do now was catch up on some TV on 4oD, and can't.  I wont upgrade to the "unshaped" Mid or Pro packages when they are just as bad, getting nowhere near the speeds advertised and being expected to settle for rubbish speeds.

Agreed, I dont care about maximum speeds or getting the top speed possible. I just want to use my connection WHEN I want to do what I want within reason. Not being able to stream SD BBC iplayer in an evening NO MATTER what connection you are on is NOT acceptable.

SD BBC iplayer only needs 1.5Mbps constantly, thats not too much to ask even on Karoo Max.

It a bully tactic to force everyone into paying £30+ for a package thats not been priced that high elsewhere for a long time. All but the last more exspensive packages capped... Initially changing the "peak usage times" from buissness hours to 6 til midnight with two weeks notice was a low blow to begin with. Now you get crippled even if you don't use the PC within those hours.. It wasn't an accident changing the hours to when everyone is going to get the most use out of it..

Karoo is a joke and at no point does my "max" service max out. Karoo and my taffif make me sick If I could turn back time and take all the money back i've given them I would gladly. 24kb/s between 6-miidnight regardless of my actions karoo should be ashamed what goes around comes around and I hope they go under.
