Appears KC are now hosting an Ookla speedtest site:

http://www.speedtest.net Smiley

Edit: Can anyone at KC confirm if the speedtest is hosted in Hull or another data center?

If it is in Hull, then any speed tests done via speedtest.net would reflect the speed between two points on within KC's own network, rather than to a point out on the tinterweb.... I'm not sure that would be an entirely accurate 'real world' figure then....

Perhaps lots of testers are connecting from off the KC network and using all the bandwidth lol!  Cheesy

I don't believe it! They've done this to fool those less technologically savvy into thinking their speeds are fine, as this now becomes the default test server for us all.

I have just tested with their server and get 4mbps, which is not far off my sync speed.  I get absolutely zero packet loss on it compared to every other speedtest, download and stream out there.  I would expect this as its inside the network and therefore no packet shaper.

This is deception in my opinion.

As that guy said basically Karoo admitted to him that they are making Max so unusable peak time to make people upgrade, it stinks to be honest and I am sure breaks pretty much a raft full of consumer laws if it could actually be proven.
